A room that extends from the edge of the orchestra pit to the back wall of the stage, is extremely reduced in height by a ceiling, offers hardly any possibilities for lighting, and is populated by almost 200 people.

As the first in a series of stage sets in the Komische Oper, which took up the entire stage including the proscenium, "Moses" was a challenge in terms of the construction times and the storage space.

The ceiling, which reaches over the orchestra pit, was of course divided under the Iron Curtain. Visually, however, unity should be achieved. The doubling in the form of a knurled circle and the installation of light openings, some of which could also be opened, required special assembly logistics.

A tiered basic building with a steep staircase in the back of the stage, over which the largest choir that ever appeared in the Komische Oper, together with almost twice as many puppets, was supposed to descend from behind, was almost crushed by the very low hanging ceiling.

The floor consisted of checker plate of various structures, partially covered with some oriental carpets. The space was structured by a few railings and built-in lights at the front edges of the steps. The main lighting came from the ceiling windows and from behind as backlight.

For the transport and storage of the stair construction in the rear area, which extends across the entire width of the stage and rises to a height of four meters, foldable mobile frames were built, which were also used as transport trolleys for the stacked stair units.

In 2015, the Komische Oper received the International Opera Award for best opera ensemble, which was mainly achieved through the performance of the choir in Moses und Aron.
